The following news contains important information for any business using Sage 200 version 2010 or 2011 and will help explain the official product support process at Sage.
Following the recent launch of Sage 200 Extra version 2016 the time is approaching for official Sage support to cease on version 2010, as with all Sage products support is only available for the latest 3 versions of the software.
Support for Sage 200 2010 has not finished just yet as you have until 31st October 2016, but if you are currently using version 2010 of Sage 200 then it is definitely worth exploring the upgrade options available to you.
Once support has finished as a Sage Business Partner we will be unable to get access to hot fixes and additional modules for the software as all support material relating to Sage 200 2010 will no longer be available directly from Sage.
This is perhaps one of the most important questions and we do have an answer from Sage on this one:
“The software can still be used, but we will withdraw support, updates and upgrades in a phased approach.” - Sage.
This confirms that the software can still be used but as there will no longer be hot fixes and any updates to the system available after the 31st October 2016, it is certainly worth investigating an upgrade.
For those of you that are currently using Sage 200 Extra 2011 Sage has also announced that support will end on 31st October 2017.
But as of 31st October 2016 it will enter extended support which means that only technical support is available and we will not be able to provide our customers with legislation updates, patches or service packs for this particular version of Sage 200 2011, as Sage will not provide us with this.
As a Strategic Sage Business Partner, we would certainly be happy to help answer any questions you might have on Sage 200 and your potential upgrade path.
